CHARACTER INFO
Sep. 11th, 2016 09:48 amName: Det. Trevor Morrissey
Age: 31
Date of Birth: 04 JUN
Race: Shapechanger
Sexuality: bisexual
Affiliations: Seattle PD
Occupation: Detective, Seattle Police Department, Magical Affairs Office.
Weight: 200 lbs (human)/1500 lbs (bear form)/1 ton (war form)
Personality
Base Alignment: Lawful Good
Personality description: Most of the time Trevor exudes a very shy, quiet air. Solitary by nature, it's difficult for him to make friends, especially in a large city such as Seattle where in certain parts space is in short supply. He can be suspicious of new people at first, but given time and the opportunity to warm up to another person, he can be very loving and caring for others. His sense of humor sometimes trends toward the morbid or off-color, more amused by people's reactions than finding the joke itself funny. It's difficult for Trevor to be in romantic relationships, often growing bored of the matter before he can truly get to know a person very intimately, though friendships are easier for him to handle, often leaving romantic partnerships as friends with the other person. He's very slow to anger, but once crossed, it's difficult for him to control his temper or forgive a person he's felt has wronged him.
Abilities and Powers: Trevor was born a Shapechanger, more specifically a werebear. Due to this he has three forms he can shift through and is equally comfortable in.
Human: As a human, Trevor has an accelerated healing factor. Minor wounds can be healed within a matter of hours while more serious injuries may take a few days to properly heal. This ability, however, often takes a lot of energy to maintain, and during these times his metabolic rate increases, requiring to consume food and water at higher quantities than his admittedly already increas demand. His senses are sharper than an average humans, though not so much so that it could be considered remarkable. His strength, however, is decidedly extraordinary. In his human form, Trevor can lift the front end of a full-sized Sedan with no assistance and can dent sheet metal significantly without self-injury, though doing something such as flipping a vehicle or lifting it over his head is out of the question.
Some physical urges of his bear form do bleed through. Most prominently is the desire to hibernate. Leading up to this stage, he'll eat even more than he already does in unconscious preparation as he becomes more physically sluggish. During the winter months, Trevor grows lethargic and is relegated to desk work. The last two weeks of December are usually spent hibernating in actuality, entering a state of sleep very close to being comatose. If entering his bear form at any point during this period, he may spend time hibernating the same period of time actual bears do.
Grizzly: In his grizzly form, Trevor's physical abilities are slightly higher than the average grizzly (get your jokes out of your system now). However, Trevor's instincts and intelligence remain mostly human. As with his human form, his bear form maintains the same healing properties.
War form: Arguably Trevor's most dangerous form. Rarely used, Trevor becomes a hulking monstrosity somewhere between human and bear. Standing at a towering ten feet tall, Trevor's war form is easily it's most feral. While losing its healing factor, Trevor's thick pelt and hide make him resilient to most forms of attack, though large caliber bullets can wound him significantly. Protective urges drive Trevor in this form, and if feeling threatened or if those he cares about are, Trevor will attack someone until they are dead or he's rendered unconscious. Unlike their lupine cousins, the war forms of werebears retain a higher modicum of their human intelligence, allowing them to reason and maintain a presence of mind to effectively use tools. This is often down to rudimentary clubs, however, as the sheer size of a wearbear makes it impossible to operate things made for human hands.
Equipment:
The standard loadout for any police detective:
1 9 mm service handgun with 2 extra magazines holding 10 rounds each.
1 Seattle police badge
1 set of business cards containing his contact information
1 cellphone
1 notepad w/pen
1 set of handcuffs
zip ties
Brief Biography: NOTE: This history is bare bones and will be expanded and edited soon.
Born in rural Washington, Trevor grew up raised in the life of a Shapechanger. Most towns have a small grouping of various species that fulfill various roles. As a werebear, Trevor was brought up to be the town's guardian, the final line of defense against any major threat, both mundane and supernatural.
In the early years of his life this capacity was largely unofficial due to the uncertain and often hostile relationship with the supernatural and mundane. However, into his teen years and as a young adult, some of the tensions had eased with the Sentient Equality Act, guaranteeing legal protections for all sentient beings in every field of work.
Not long after the SEA was enacted, a demand for nonhuman police officers grew, prompting Trevor to enroll in the local police academy. Trevor soon returned to his hometown after having graduated successfully, where he spent the next several years as a police officer, making it to Sergeant. His record not going unnoticed, he was soon transferred to Seattle, working alongside humans and supernatural beings in the Magical Affairs office.
It was during this time he fathered Alyssa, his first child, to another werebear named Sharon. Preferring to raise the child on her own, Sharon took full custody over their child and moved to Tacoma. The separation was amicable, with Trevor usually going to see Alyssa once a week after the birth of the child.
A year later, another brief relationship spawned a second child just as he made detective. This was his son, Richard. With Richard, there was more contact with father and son with more of a demand to be active in his life by his mother. However, less than a year after the birth of the child, Richard's mother fell victim to a fatal accident. Wracked with grief over the loss of his son's mother, Trevor took full custody of the child with Richard's grandparents helping to take care of him during Trevor's work hours.
